About the Festival

Entries must have been completed after 1st August, 2015 and may not have been entered for a previous CEVMA Film Festival. The Festival is conducted in English. Productions in other languages are welcome. They must, however, be subtitled/dubbed in English.

Participation

Participation in the 2018 CEVMA Film Festival implies full acceptance of the Rules and Regulations of the competition by all entrants.

Submitting your entry

You can send us your entry in one of two ways:

A) Provide 6 DVD copies of your entry in English or English subtitles (DVD’s should be region 2 or region-free, PAL)

B) Upload your entry to either YouTube or Vimeo as unlisted videos to maintain privacy and supply us with the url. Email your url to ctnailsea@gmail.com and filmfestival@cevma.com

Entrants must complete a separate entry (online) form for each production. It’s also possible to download the entry form (PDF), fill it out and enclose it when sending the DVD package or email it when sending the url. The organisers reserve the right to reject entries that are incomplete. Fees are non-returnable. Entrants are responsible for the safe transportation and insurance of entries to CEVMA.

Responsibility

The organisers promise to take every reasonable precaution in handling the entries but cannot be responsible for non-receipt, damage or loss. Please check all DVDs before shipping to ensure that they will work on the average player. No NTSC submissions will be accepted. Additionally, participation in the Festival is deemed to relieve the organisers of all liability in respect of claims by third parties. Competition entrants automatically grant consent for their productions to be available for viewing by CEVMA Conference participants during the Conference. Entrants will also allow usage of clips from their entries for promotional use on the CEVMA website, CEVMA Facebook account and CEVMA YouTube account.

Judging

The entries will be submitted to a panel of several professionals, chosen by the CEVMA Board. The panel decides the top three finalists in each category and their decisions will be final. Those programmes (or parts of it) will be shown at the Film Festival during this year’s conference. If there are not enough qualified films, submitted by at least two different producers, in a particular category, the jury reserves the right to take this category out of the competition. Conference participants are invited to view the programmes and make comments on the programmes, which will be forwarded to the producers.
