Edward Hopper, The Last Puritan
This documentary looks back at the life of the painter who was born in 1882 and died in 1967. Edward Hopper received a rigorous Protestant education from his family. The puritanism of which he was the heir is reflected in his paintings, but by transposing their traditional values and motifs into a modern context, he manages to create that feeling of strangeness and paradox that he is still famous for today.
